Job summary

UVM Health Network- Porter Medical Center is seeking a Laboratory Assistant for night shift. The role includes phlebotomy, lab order entry and specimen processing to support timely test results.

You will gather specimens, enter patient data, and ensure quality throughout processing while collaborating with team members and reference labs. Night differential applies and full benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification from a nationally recognized agency is highly recommended.
• Phlebotomy experience is a plus.
• Computer entry or word processing skills required.
• Good interpersonal communication skills required.
• Approximately six months to a year is required to learn the job.

Responsibilities

• Lab Customer Service.
• Phlebotomist role in specimen collection.
• Lab Order Entry including handling of patient information and test results.
• Specimen Processing and Shipment of samples to Reference Labs.
• Provides Exceptional Customer Service to all stakeholders.
• Obtains specimens for testing according to policies and regulatory requirements.
• Performs administrative duties to meet lab needs.
• Processes specimens prior to testing with quality adherence.
• Works collaboratively with coworkers and other staff.
• Uses communication skills to meet lab and customer needs.
• Participates in continuing education and departmental development.
