Job summary

Mid-Valley Hospital & Clinic seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform routine laboratory testing in a 4/10 night shift schedule (Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon, 8:00pm–6:30am).

Rotations across bench areas, specimen entry, quality control, and training of MLT students are included. Requires an associate degree in MLT, and ASCP licensure within one year of hire; commitment to accuracy and patient care is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum of twelve month internship in all laboratory departments or completed rotation for MLT students.
• ASCP licensure required within one year after hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory testing and ensure accuracy of results.
• Rotate through bench areas and assist with specimen entry and processing.
• Maintain clean work areas and participate in training of staff and students.
• Operate LIS and other computer systems; report results within time guidelines.
• Provide excellent patient and staff service and comply with HIPAA and safety policies.
