Job summary

MultiCare Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma is seeking a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) for a night-shift role. You will perform a dynamic range of daily laboratory tasks, from patient analytic testing to quality control, data analysis and problem resolution.

Responsibilities include receiving specimens, ensuring proper identification, assessing specimen suitability and performing instrument maintenance. Associates degree and MLT certification required, with potential exceptions for military training;

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• Current MLT (ASCP)CM or MLT (ASCP) certification.
• 50 week military program in lieu of degree may be accepted.
• Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist certification or eligibility if duties include phlebotomy.
• Minimum one year of previous laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens and establish positive identification.
• Determine suitability of specimens and reject if needed.
• Prepare reagents and acquire materials as needed.
• Perform instrument maintenance and calibration.
