Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of products in the department and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Recommend grocery items to ensure customers get what they want and inform them of specials.
• Check product quality, review sell-by dates and take action as needed.
• Label, stock and inventory department goods; provide fresh products.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure correct temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain logs.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs.
• Report safety risks and illegal activity when observed.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
