Job summary

ONE Gas, Inc. in Oklahoma City is seeking a night shift Field Technician to support gas service operations. You will drive a company vehicle, load and operate a variety of gas-related tools, and perform line locating, meter work, and leak surveys in accordance with OKIE 811 requirements.

The role requires basic math, maps/blueprints literacy, and fluency in English. Prior gas utility experience and safety training are preferred, with physical ability to climb ladders and lift loads as needed.

Qualifications

• Up to two years of relevant field experience.
• Knowledge of gas piping, disconnects, and basic gas system operations.
• Ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, and related manuals.
• Fluent in reading/writing English; effective communication.
• Basic arithmetic and data entry skills in computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Drive and maintain company vehicle.
• Load, unload, and operate tools and equipment listed in qualifications.
• Assist with pipeline locating and mark-by-measurement.
• Perform line locating and OKIE 811 compliance.
• Turn gas service off, remove meters, and install electronic readers (ERTs).
• Inspect, calibrate, and repair leakage survey tools and equipment.
• Maintain records: completed orders, miles, work logs, and inventories.
• Complete and update reports and GIS applications.
• Respond to emergencies and support leak surveys as needed.
