Job summary

Mars Petcare (Greenies) in North Kansas City, MO is seeking a Utility Operator for the nights shift (6pm–6:30am, 4 on 4 off) in a climate-controlled plant. This full-time role supports packaging, forklift operations, inventory tracking, and daily production tasks.

You will coordinate team activities, ensure strict food safety standards, perform basic sanitation, and handle equipment maintenance. Military experience is valued; no prior manufacturing experience is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Forklift or MHE experience required (military licensing transferable).
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to direct temporary associates.
• Basic computer skills; experience with tablets or inventory apps is a plus.
• Basic math and measuring skills; hands-on physical work.
• Team-focused with coachable attitude; adaptable to changing schedules.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs; mobility in manufacturing spaces.

Responsibilities

• Move raw ingredients and products using forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Build, fill, weigh, and label pallets for packaging or storage.
• Conduct inventory audits and cycle counts; document processes.
• Provide leadership to temporary associates throughout production.
• Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards; use PPE.
• Perform basic equipment sanitation and maintenance checks.
