Job summary

Mervin Manufacturing, home of Lib Tech, GNU, and Bent Metal, is seeking a Finishing Technician for the night shift in Sequim, WA. The role involves completing steps to prepare snowboards for shipment and supporting the quality-control process.

You will operate various finishing equipment, check board quality, and assist in the production flow. The position requires physical work, adherence to safety and instruction, and a willingness to work in a fast-paced factory setting.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills are required as finishing technicians are part of the QC process.
• Must be able to perform the physical requirements repetitively.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adapt daily routines.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve boards from Lay-Up department.
• Cut out to general shape with band saw.
• Grind off excess material with deflash machine.
• Smooth tip and tail using finer sanding belt.
• Access inserts by drilling through top material and fiberglass.
• Tap threads to ensure clean threads.
• Bevel tip and tail with file or angle die-grinder.
• Bevel sidewalls with router.
• Grind base by hand on Reichmann belt grinder.
• Polish steel and sidewalls with belts and Scotch-Brite.
• Apply wax and buff with waxing equipment.
• Deliver boards to QC for inspection.
