Job summary

Ducommun Incorporated in Parsons, Kansas, is seeking a Fabricator for the D Shift. The role involves setting up and operating brake presses and Watson Stillman equipment to bend, form, and finish metal parts per blueprints.

You will read blueprints, position dies, operate CNC controls, and verify dimensions with precision. This position offers a path across fabrication tasks within a precision manufacturing environment, with opportunities to advance through entry, intermediate, or expert levels

Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and skills.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Ability to use measuring instruments (calipers, protractor, tape measure, height gauge, scales).
• Prior operation of machinery is helpful.
• Read and understand internal procedures and policies.
• Understand and follow through on verbal and written instructions.
• Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook.

Responsibilities

• Brake Press – sets up and operates heavy duty power brake to bend, notch, punch, form rolls, arc or straighten metal per specs.
• Selects, positions, and aligns dies in ram and bed of machine.
• Turns screws to fasten clamp bar that holds dies.
• Operates CNC control.
• Lays out or details layout on work stock from blueprints or templates.
• Positions work piece manually or with crane to align layout marks to dies.
• Starts machine to bend or cut metal and sets stops for multiple pieces.
• Verifies dimensions of work piece and inspects final product.
