The role requires cross-training as Unit Secretary, hospital computer systems proficiency, and emergency responsiveness, including rapid identification of high-priority rhythms and coordination with ED physicians and triage staff.

Must have HS diploma, EMT/Paramedic certificate preferred, ACLS/BLS/PALS certification, and IV

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED is required.
• Paramedic/EMT certification preferred.
• Willingness to cross-train as Unit Secretary.
• Experience as Paramedic/EMT is required; IV start experience is necessary.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications required.

Responsabilités

• Demonstrates proper technique and lead placement for performing a quality ECG study.
• Verifies order is placed into computer and acquires ECG with correct demographics.
• Edits ECGs for accurate patient identification (name, MR#, room#).
• Transmits ECG from the cart to the data management system.
• Identifies high-priority rhythms and delivers ECG to ED MD for interpretation.
• Monitors for changes and notifies RN/charge nurse as needed.
• Cross-trains as Unit Secretary to support department operations.
