Job summary

Burton Center for Disabilities and Special Needs in Greenwood, SC is seeking a Direct Support Professional for a full-time night shift to support up to 8 adults in a residential IC facility. You will implement person-centered supports, assist with daily living tasks, training, and community engagement, including meals per plan and safety procedures.

Training and orientation are provided, with certifications supported as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or ability to pass an aptitude test distributed at our office.
• SC Driver's License
• Ability to lift or maneuver up to 50lbs,
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time,
• Ability to be adaptive, a team player, and advocate for others
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Using person-centered support, you will implement effective training programs, encourage independence and community engagement, and provide direct care with self-help skills and personal hygiene.
• Prepare light meals from a designated meal plan, follow behavioral support plans, keep a clean and tidy home, and participate in planned outings, hobbies, or activities.
• Drive Burton Center vehicles, operate wheelchair lifts safely, use therapeutic options, and provide Basic Life Support and MedTech certifications.
