Job summary

Pratt Industries, Inc. is seeking a Dispatcher Supervisor for the Logistics division. The role oversees driver scheduling, rate negotiation with third-party carriers, and DOT hours-of-service compliance, reporting to the Logistics Manager. Work hours are 8pm–4am, with annual pay of $63,000.

Responsibilities include supervising drivers, entering POs, ensuring safety policies are followed, and coordinating maintenance with vendor shops. A strong, communicative leader is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Two years experience as a Dispatcher
• Preferred: College and/or related technical experience in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management
• One year supervisory experience with at least five people
• Four years’ experience in Shipping and Warehousing or CDL Truck Driving

Responsibilities

• Dispatch as needed will put rates in TMW or rate loads/negotiate rates with 3rd party carriers
• Direct the daily driver duties managing where they go, the time it takes and when their day is concluded
• Dispatchers will manage DOT compliance related to driver available hours of service when assigning loads and daily task.
• Dispatchers interact with internal and external customers including shift hand off communications to ensure continuity and avoid incidents
• Enter POs as needed
• Participate and initiate discipline to drivers as per company policy
• Review driver documents for accuracy and/or compliance
• Involvement as needed with selecting external carriers to take loads
• Dispatchers will be involved with payroll to ensure Drivers are compensated
• Dispatchers are responsible for managing the fleet in a financially efficient and safe manner
• Manage fleet flow to lease vendor shops for repairs and coordinate road breakdowns with vendors
• Follow all Safety Policies and ensure drivers and staff follow them
• Complete incident investigation forms with detail when a safety issue occurs
• Ride along with Drivers periodically to understand their needs
• Dispatch position is supervisory and duties include supervising
