Job summary

University Health Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO is seeking an Environmental Services Worker for a part-time overnight schedule (10:30 PM–7:00 AM), 24 hours per week. The role focuses on keeping patient areas, common spaces, and facilities clean, safe, and sanitary.

You will follow established procedures for cleaning, move furniture as needed, and operate floor care equipment while adhering to safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Speak and read English; communicate effectively with staff, patients, and visitors.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly; occasional heavier items.
• Know how to operate cleaning and floor care equipment safely and effectively.
• Be ready to complete a competency assessment after training and mentoring within 30–60 days of hire.
• Follow written and verbal instructions; pay attention to details that affect cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service hospital areas from patient rooms to common spaces per procedures.
• Move furniture, equipment, and supplies to set up spaces for hospital functions.
• Maintain safety and sanitation by following infection control standards and safety procedures.
• Operate electric and battery-powered floor care equipment to keep floors clean.
• Read chemical labels to understand contents and first aid instructions for safe use.
