The position requires a Master’s degree in counseling or related field and an eligible license (LMSW/LCSW/LPC/etc.), BLS, and ~2 years of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling, behavioral health, or related field or state-board licensure requirements.
• Current LMSW/LCSW/LPC/LAC/LASAC/LISAC/LCMFT/MFT license or equivalent.
• BLS certification.
• About 2 years of clinical experience at a minimum.
• Knowledge in psychotherapy, counseling, or clinical social work.
• Working knowledge of hospital operations, medical/nursing procedures, and resources.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills for internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in acute care settings for Banner Registry/Travel roles is preferred.
• Compliance with fingerprint clearance and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs emergent/non-emergent behavioral health assessments and recommends level of care.
• Coordinates inpatient/outpatient admissions or alternate level of care needs.
• Documents thoroughly in the medical record; licensed clinicians may follow doctor's orders.
• Conducts initial utilization review and coordinates treatment authorization with payers.
• Identifies psychiatric disorders per DSM and follows state/federal protocols.
• Maintains professional knowledge via education and professional networks.
• Responds to requests for assessments and consultations within bylaws; provides crisis interventions.
• Collaborates with care team to discharge planning and external partners as needed.
