Job summary

Via Linda Behavioral Hospital in Scottsdale, AZ seeks an Intake Therapist (PRN/Per Diem) to manage telephonic and in-person assessments, help determine the appropriate level of care, and coordinate referrals and admissions.

Responsibilities include trauma-informed assessments, liaison with physicians, hospitals, families and staff, and occasional insurance verification; cross-training in BHT or Intake Coordinator duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in social services or mental health settings.
• Preferred 2-3 years; prior intake/assessment experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage telephonic and in-person assessments to determine appropriate level of care.
• Coordinate referral, intake, and admission processes with physicians and staff.
• Provide trauma-informed assessment and communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff.
• Cross-train in other Intake Department roles (BHT or Intake Coordinator) to assist when needed.
• Assist with verification and prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed.
