Job summary

FLIK Independent School Dining is hiring a full-time Night Cook at Avon Old Farms School in Avon, CT. Schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 am–7:00 pm. Previous cooking experience and a ServSafe certificate are preferred.

The role includes meal service, portion control, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. We offer training opportunities, free meals, uniforms, laundering, and an internal referral bonus.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience preferred.
• ServSafe certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and schedules.
• Serves meals and prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting standards, and ensuring proper temperature and presentation.
• Maintains records from area worked during service periods.
• Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized; stores food and supplies per standards.
• Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
• Assists in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required.
• Reports needed maintenance or faulty equipment to supervisor immediately.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
