Job summary

Harvard Protection Services seeks a Security Officer to provide professional, customer-focused security and life-safety services at a Boston-area location. Officers support the protection of people and property with a professional demeanor and reliable presence.

Responsibilities include concierge duties, access control, monitoring for suspicious activity, and incident reporting. Strong communication and appearance are essential; prior security or related experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Must have reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication and neat, professional appearance.
• Ability to write routine log entries and incident reports.
• Experience in contract security, law enforcement, military or customer service is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide concierge services and assist customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and a visible presence in the assigned facility.
• Monitor the environment for suspicious and unsafe activity.
• Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, guests and monitor entrances/exits.
• Perform patrols on foot or in vehicle and prepare incident reports.
• Follow emergency action plans and monitor alarms.
