Job summary

Ochsner Health System in Louisiana seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant Sitter for the OLGMC 9S Med Tele unit, full-time nights (7P-7A). You will support patient safety, provide basic care under licensed nurse supervision, and communicate with care teams, patients and families.

This role emphasizes observation duties, documentation, and adherence to policies. CNA certification and BLS are required or obtained within 30 days; CPI training within 30 days as well.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification and BLS or CPI to be obtained within 30 days from hire.
• Proficiency in computers, software, and web-based applications is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Supports the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment in the patient care area.
• Provides care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned areas.
• Communicates patient care needs effectively with patients, families, and other staff members, including multi-disciplinary teams.
• Completes documentation of patient related tasks.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including privacy, introductions, explanations, and permissions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
