Job summary

Frederick Health Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Observation- 2B unit. This full-time night shift role supports the RN and care team in delivering safe, patient-centered care on-site in Frederick, MD.

You will perform ADL assistance, monitor patients, document care, and reinforce patient education under supervision. The position emphasizes teamwork, compliance with regulations, and a strong service ethos.

Qualifications

• CNA certification required by Maryland Board of Nursing.
• Ability to read and write in English and understand medical terminology.
• Experience in hospital or acute care settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the RN and interdisciplinary team in delivering safe patient care.
• Provide activities of daily living support (bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding).
• Position and transfer patients to prevent skin breakdown.
• Assist patients with meals and hydration as directed.
• Perform hourly rounds and monitor patient status (pain, needs, possessions).
• Document care provided and report changes to the nurse promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies and safety guidelines.
