Job summary

Bethesda Health Group is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a part-time overnight shift (10:45pm - 7:15am, 48 hours per pay period) to provide patient care and assistance at Bethesda Dilworth. The role requires active CNA certification in Missouri, CPR, and strong communication skills, with opportunities for career advancement and competitive benefits.

Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, vital signs, and documentation; ensuring patient safety; and

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Active CNA certification in the state of employment.
• CPR certification, or willing to obtain within six months of employment.
• Long-term care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to interact verbally with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Ability to manage time and organize daily schedule to meet productivity standards.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift heavy objects using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Ability to transfer and move patients who vary with ability to assist weighing 200+lbs using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40lbs using proper techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Manual dexterity, coordination and skillful use of hands when working with patients and equipment.
• Ability to physically perform necessary documentation in writing or use of tape recorder.
• Visual acuity with the ability to distinguish color.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care support including hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination, and safety as directed by Charge Nurse per guidelines.
• Document appropriately into patient records.
• Orient new resident to the facility and unit; ensure arm band and admission kit are provided.
• Respond to call lights promptly and complete rounds as assigned.
• Take vital signs and weights; monitor intake and output.
• Assist with moving and repositioning residents as required.
• Maintain supplies and equipment; report needs to Charge Nurse.
• Give report to Charge Nurse at shift end and during handoffs.
• May be assigned other duties as appropriate.
