Job summary

Sanford Health in Kansas is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance in an assisted living setting during night shifts. The role involves direct care, monitoring vital signs, and supporting the resident’s daily needs under a charge nurse's supervision.

The NA will perform tasks from hygiene and meals to documentation, basic health care activities, and collaborating with nursing staff.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in assisted living preferred.
• Required CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing.
• Satisfactorily completes yearly competency testing and maintains 12 hours of continuing education annually.
• For applicable states, certified and registered with the UAP Registry.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, recording vital signs, and psychosocial support.
• Assist with transferring, repositioning, and walking using proper techniques and equipment.
• May administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse within scope of practice.
• Document care outcomes, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary information.
• Maintain infection prevention and control policies and PPE usage.
• Provide housekeeping and laundry support as needed to keep living areas clean.
• Support wellness and recreational programs and encourage resident participation.
