Job summary

Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital in Homewood, AL, is seeking a Charge Nurse (CANM) to lead the Coronary Care Unit on the night shift. This full-time role requires directing shift operations, staffing, patient flow, and collaboration with nursing leadership to deliver high-quality care to seriously ill patients.

Qualified candidates will have a BSN, active Alabama RN license or NLC, and BLS certification, with at least 1 year of RN experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in Alabama or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift operations to ensure delivery of high-quality care and optimal patient flow.
• Manage staffing assignments for oncoming and off-going shifts based on patient acuity and staff skills.
• Coordinate patient flow with Administrative Supervisors, Care Coordinators, and Discharge Planners.
• Monitor status of patients, especially seriously ill, within area of responsibility.
• Ensure delivery of patient care in line with physician orders and policies and standards of practice.
• Serve as a resource for frontline team members and providers.
• Support collaboration to optimize patient length of stay and outcomes.
• Perform direct patient care as needed to meet operational needs.
