Job summary

Bethel University is seeking a Staff Security Officer for the 3rd shift (12am - 8am) to protect campus and support a Christ-centered community. You will respond to emergencies, patrol facilities, and ensure safety for students, faculty, staff, and visitors across Bethel's Minnesota campus.

The role requires 40 hours/week, 12 months/year, with word-of-hours including weekends/holidays, and a pay range of $23.80-$23.95 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Must be currently First Aid/CPR certified, or able to obtain certification immediately after starting employment.
• Must be Baton, Repuls, and Handcuff certified, or able to obtain certification immediately after starting employment.

Responsibilities

• Campus Patrol and Enforcement: patrol campuses, enforce policies, respond to emergencies and incidents.
• Incident Response and Reporting: conduct interviews, use sound judgment, coordinate with emergency services, maintain detailed incident reports.
• Emergency Preparedness and Compliance: stay updated on policies and statutes, complete training including 40-hour behavior detection (SIRA®).
• Safety, Traffic, and Event Management: conduct safety inspections, issue parking tickets, control traffic during events.
• Community Engagement and Assistance: provide friendly service to campus guests and community members.
