Job summary

Viterbo University is seeking a 3rd Shift Campus Security Officer to protect campus community members, guests, and property. The role is full-time, permanent, 12-month, hourly, non-exempt, and overtime eligible, working Thursday through Sunday from 8pm to 6am.

The officer will patrol campus facilities, respond to incidents, monitor alarms, and assist with security operations. CPR/AED certification is required or obtainable within six months of appointment.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in security field preferred.
• CPR/AED certifications required or can obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform foot patrol on campus facilities and grounds for crime prevention and security.
• Respond to complaints and disturbances to prevent dangerous situations on campus property.
• Investigate incidents and write incident reports after collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses.
• Identify hazards to safety and report to the Director of Campus Safety.
• Monitor surveillance system, fire alarm system and other emergency notification systems.
• Assist in preparing administrative and operational reports; maintain files of orders.
• Act as liaison to outside emergency services and law enforcement agencies; support security operations.
• Conduct and document routine inspections of AEDs, emergency phones, extinguishers, etc.
• Carry out other responsibilities as delegated; work holidays and cover vacations as needed.
