Job summary

Beloit College is seeking an unarmed Security Officer to help provide a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors. This full-time role combines campus safety with customer service, emergency response, problem solving and community engagement, serving as a trusted resource during emergencies and everyday needs.

The position features four 10-hour overnight shifts per week (typically 6:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and insurable under College guidelines.
• Ability to patrol campus on foot, outdoors in all weather, and perform physical duties.
• Ability to obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within one year of hire.
• Successful completion of a background check.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus buildings and grounds with a visible, welcoming presence.
• Assist students, employees, and visitors with directions, escorts, lockouts, and service requests.
• Secure and unlock buildings; identify safety hazards or maintenance concerns.
