Job summary

Meredith College is seeking a Third Shift Security Officer to maintain a safe campus environment. You will patrol campus, respond to incidents, control access, and provide basic medical aid when needed.

This essential role supports students, faculty, staff, and campus guests through proactive safety measures and reliable service. Shifts run 11pm–7am; candidates must be able to work nights, weekends, and special events, with duties across a variety of campus facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid NC Driver License with an acceptable driving record.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification preferred or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provides safety and security on campus for students, faculty, staff, visitors, and guests.
• Responds to alarms and incidents per College policies.
• Patrols campus by vehicle and foot to identify safety concerns.
• Controls access to facilities and assists with access control.
• Responds to medical emergencies and provides basic first aid until EMS arrives.
• Documents incidents and reports through logs and documentation.
• Performs duties during inclement weather, campus closures, and emergencies.
• Assists with special events and campus operations.
