Job summary

Responsibilities include documenting incidents, performing routine fire system inspections, and coordinating with campus safety personnel. Weekend and holiday work is required, with a night shift schedule and a uniformed presence on campus.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Able to walk up to 9 hours of a 10-hour shift.
• Able to lift 40 lbs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform walking and motorized patrol of university property and assist when requested.
• Ensure safety of students, faculty, and staff.
• Check and lock/unlock doors on campus at designated times.
• Manage student access to buildings after hours.
• Handle safety/security issues including lock problems, lighting issues, storm damage, or maintenance concerns.
• Respond to vandalism, theft, or disturbances on campus.
• Relay emergency calls to the proper authorities.
• Escort students, faculty, and staff as needed.
• Log daily activity and incidents; maintain fire system and extinguisher checks.
