Job summary

The Lawrenceville School's Department of Public Safety & Security is seeking a dedicated on-site professional. This role reports to the Director of Public Safety and requires flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays, as essential personnel during emergencies.

Responsibilities include maintaining shift logs, reporting hazards, filing incident reports, assisting students and staff, patrols, first aid response, and ensuring building security.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and a minimum of six months relevant experience; experience in an educational setting preferred.
• Must be available to work evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays and be flexible for various shifts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with campus personnel, students and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a daily shift log and report safety hazards on the log sheet.
• File formal reports and complete log entries for incidents on campus.
• Engage and assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
• Assist motorists with vehicle problems and ensure fire lanes are clear.
• Patrol campus roadways and buildings and respond as first aid/CPR on campus.
• Check outside lights and monitor access and alarm systems.
