Job summary

The Lawrenceville School is seeking a Public Safety & Security Officer to join a community-minded team. This essential position requires availability for all shifts, including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.

You will protect campus facilities, assist the campus community, and respond to emergencies with professionalism and discretion. Responsibilities include monitoring security systems, patrolling campus areas, logging activities, and providing first aid when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with at least six months of prior relevant experience; experience in an educational setting preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work extra hours, including evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.
• EMS, Fire, or Police experience preferred; knowledge of dispatch systems and emergency procedures is helpful.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate with campus personnel at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a daily shift log and report safety hazards.
• Record and report incidents, accidents, and alarms on the log.
• Assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors; provide first aid/CPR as needed.
• Monitor access control and fire alarm systems; patrol campus roads and buildings.
• Aid motorists with vehicle issues and ensure fire lanes and hydrants are accessible.
• Perform fire prevention and safety checks; respond as first responder to emergencies.
