Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. is seeking a Brake Press Operator to join our team. This role is an individual contributor responsible for setting up the brake, loading sheets onto conveyors, bending metal, and ensuring parts meet specifications.

The position requires reading blueprints, performing basic math, and operating related equipment such as the overhead crane and plate heater. Training for forklift operation is provided, with emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• No Degree Required.
• 1 year of production experience.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Capable of performing simple math, fractions and decimal conversions.
• Ability to become Valmont trained and certified in forklift operation.
• High awareness for safety at all times.
• Wear all required PPE in the production facility.
• Read blueprints and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, load, and move metal sheet onto the conveyor of the brake press.
• Bend metal sheet using the brake press.
• Inspect each product after bending to ensure accuracy.
• Send metal sheet to seaming operation after brake press procedures.
• Recognize lamination and material defects and notify QA or supervisor.
• Assist in training Brake Press Operator.
• Make decisions affecting inventory and stored product locations.
