Position Overview
The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing the auditing, posting, and balancing of daily financial transactions to support the hotel’s efforts to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. The role requires consistent, professional, friendly, and engaging service, creatively and actively engaging guests in an informative and advantageous manner during their stay. This is an overnight position with a shift starting at 11 pm and ending at 7 am.
Job Qualifications
- Previous 1‑2 years of customer‑related experience, preferably in a Hilton property
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written); a second language is an asset
- Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications; OnQ system knowledge is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively with colleagues as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
- Physical ability to lift, pull, bend, push moderate weight and stand for 8 hours or more a day
- Flexible schedule (overnight is a must, weekends & holidays)
- Knowledge of accounting operations, including accounts receivable, payroll, etc.
- Ability to access and accurately input information into a computer using Excel and other software programs
- Basic mathematical and calculator skills to prepare calculations without error
- Office machine proficiency: calculator/10‑key, copier, fax, telephone
- Must possess the ability to post and balance large amounts of charges efficiently and accurately
- Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely with minimal direct supervision during the initial training period
- Maintain an open line of communication between guests, team members, and management
- Other duties as needed
Job Functions
- Post and balance all hotel work for each day
- Prepare restaurant audits to break down and balance restaurant figures
- Handle all computer end‑of‑day issues and problems that might occur throughout the shift
- Reconcile credit card system to daily transaction list from rooms
- Perform supportive functions as directed by the supervisor, with percentages of time determined by company needs
