Job summary

Hamilton Hotel Washington, D.C. seeks a Night Auditor to ensure accurate, courteous service during overnight hours. This role balances daily hotel operations, posts charges, and prepares end-of-day reports. The shift runs from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

The Night Auditor collaborates with front desk and accounting functions, handles guest inquiries, and maintains calm, professional conduct while managing end-of-day tasks in a luxury setting.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years customer-related experience, preferably luxury/boutique property
• Proficiency in English (verbal and written)
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively with colleagues as part of a team
• Maintain calm and courteous guest service at all times
• Must be able to lift, pull, bend, push moderate weight and stand long hours
• Overnight shift required (11pm–7am) and flexible scheduling
• Experience with accounting operations including accounts, payroll, etc.
• Input data into computer using Excel and other software programs

Responsibilities

• Post and balance all hotel work for each day
• Prepare restaurant audits to balance restaurant figures
• Handle all computer end-of-day issues during shift
• Reconcile credit card system with daily transaction list from rooms
• Perform additional supervisor-assigned supportive functions as required by the company

This is an overnight position with a shift starting at 11pm and ending at 7am.

Job Qualifications

• Previous 1-2 years customer related experience, preferably luxury, boutique property and retail industry
• Proficiency in English (verbal and written), second language an asset
• Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications an asset
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
• Ability to lift, pull, bend, push moderate weight and stand for 8 hours or more a day.
• Flexible schedule (Overnight is a must, Weekends & Holidays)
• Other duties as needed
• Knowledge of accounting operations to include all aspects, such as, accounts, receivable, payroll, etc.
• Ability to access and accurately input information into a computer using Excel software and other various software programs.
• Basic mathematical and calculator skills to prepare mathematical calculations without error.
• Office machines: operate calculator/10-key by touch, copier, fax, telephone.
• Must possess the ability to post and balance large amounts of charges efficiently and accurately.
• Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely with minimal direct supervision, within initial training period after employee begins work.
• Maintain an open line of communication between guests, team members and management

Job Functions

• In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
