Job summary

The Long Bay Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC, seeks a Relief Night Auditor to manage front desk operations during overnight hours while supervising all hotel departments to ensure exceptional guest care throughout the night.

This role requires overseeing overnight staff, handling audit reports, resolving guest issues, and enforcing hotel policies. Weekend/holiday coverage may be needed; strong communication and basic room management system knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Front desk experience preferred and overnight availability required.
• Ability to work the overnight shifts (11pm–7am and 12am–8am) and varying schedules.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overnight staff across departments (Housekeeping, Loss Prevention, PBX, Maintenance).
• Prepare cash, check and credit activity summaries.
• Run overnight audit reports and procedures per policy.
• Resolve guest issues using service recovery techniques.
• Enforce front office policies and rate programs.
• Communicate overnight events to management via Night Auditor Report.
• Maintain safety and report hazards to Loss Prevention/management.
• Report unsafe conditions and assist in security precautions.

Overview

The Relief Night Auditor is responsible for managing the front desk operations and overseeing all departments of the property during the overnight hours. They ensure the highest degree of quality guest care is maintained at all times, through prompt and courteous service.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for overseeing activities of all overnight staff on property including Housekeeping, Loss Prevention, PBX, and Maintenance
• Prepares summary of cash, check and credit card activity
• Accurately performs all overnight audit reports and procedures according to property and company policy
• Handles any guest issues or complaints, using appropriate service recovery methods
• Executes policies and procedures for the front office, including following rate programs
• Responds to emergency situations and immediately notifies GSM, Resort Manager, or General Manager when appropriate
• Communicates overnight events and issues to the management team by completing the Night Auditor’s Report
• Assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment; reports suspicious persons, activities and/or hazardous conditions to the Loss Prevention department
• Reports any unsafe work conditions to the Guest Services Manager, Resort Manager or General Manager
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Shifts will be 11pm-7am and 12am-8am
• Previous front desk experience preferred
• Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality business, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the resort, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to work necessary overnight hours
• Ability to anticipate guest needs, change direction quickly, and multi-task
• Working knowledge of rooms management systems preferred
• Uses independent judgment and possesses solid decision‑making skills
• Proficient with general office PC applications (i.e., word processing, spreadsheets, and databases)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively via email and phone with proper etiquette
• Passion for providing exceptional service to guests and team members
• Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication, and attention to detail
• Teamwork and collaboration
• Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with guests, coworkers and supervisors
