Overview

The Front Desk Night Clerk serves as an ambassador to the hotel, handling all check-in and check-out procedures, answering incoming calls, and upholding Guest Service Standards. Responsibilities include nightly accounting and assisting housekeeping needs during the midnight shift. The role involves computing, classifying, and recording numerical data to maintain financial records, performing routine calculations, postings, and verifications related to business transactions.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Resolve guest complaints to ensure guest satisfaction.
  2. Maintain knowledge of hotel features, services, room types, rates, promotions, house count, and availability.
  3. Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
  4. Manage and secure the bank, and record pertinent information in the log book daily.
  5. Process currency exchange, payments, adjustments, rebates, paid outs, and credits.
  6. Operate and secure the Property Management System (PMS).
  7. Verify and correct the Room Rate Report, and post and audit banquet charges.
  8. Reconcile telephone and miscellaneous accounts, backup system files, and ensure all checks are closed in the POS system.
  9. Print and review Food & Beverage end-of-day reports, audit cashier and miscellaneous charges, and verify package postings.
  10. Input sales figures into PMS, balance accounts, and run various reports including end-of-day and morning reports.
  11. Close POS systems, verify interfaces, and distribute reports.
  12. Complete night audit checklist, restock printers, and handle deposits.
  13. Coordinate with incoming supervisors, document maintenance needs, and attend departmental meetings and training.
Education And Experience
  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. At least one year of experience in a similar hotel position.
  3. Availability to work the overnight shift (11 pm - 7 am).
  4. Basic computer skills required.
