Summary

Responsible for performing a variety of guest service activities to provide the highest level of service in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner by following brand standards and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests.
  2. Answer telephone calls.
  3. Post charges (e.g., room, food, telephone), compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests.
  4. Make and confirm reservations.
  5. Monitor room availability.
  6. Block rooms.
  7. Program wake-up calls.
  8. Handle guest mail and messages.
  9. Open and close shifts, making cash drops as necessary.
  10. Maintain market stock and coffee area as needed.
  11. Finalize transactions and process credit card payments.
  12. Prepare and print folios for departing guests.
  13. Create, print, file, and transmit reports.
  14. Compile daily sales figures and complete daily reports.
  15. Complete end-of-month procedures.
  16. Ensure hotel PMS system balances with reservations system and correct discrepancies.
  17. Provide guests with information about hotel hours, services, and local area directions.
  18. Assist in maintaining cleanliness of the lobby, front entrance, and surrounding areas.
  19. Check lobby fixtures and equipment for proper operation; report deficiencies.
  20. Schedule shuttle runs (if applicable).
  21. Perform laundry duties as needed.
  22. Set up continental breakfast.

Qualifications

One to three months of related experience/training; high school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be at least 18 years old.

Physical Demands

Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and dust. Moderate noise level. Open environment accessible to the public.
