JOB SUMMARY

Job Summary

The Night Auditor Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the nightly operations of the hotel’s Front Office. This position ensures the accuracy and completion of all end-of-day accounting processes, reconciles daily financial transactions, and generates essential audit reports. In addition to financial responsibilities, the Night Auditor Supervisor provides exceptional guest service, acting as the primary point of contact for late-night and early-morning guest interactions, including check-ins, check-outs, and general inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

Audit and Reporting

  • Perform nightly closing duties for the front desk, including end-of-day financial audits.
  • Reconcile accounts and verify the accuracy of guest folios and room charges.
  • Identify and correct discrepancies in the daily transactions.
  • Prepare, balance, and distribute daily reports to management and relevant departments.
  • Monitor revenue entries and postings for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain documentation for audit trails and compliance.

Guest Services

  • Greet and assist guests in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Handle late-night check-ins, early check-outs, and special requests.
  • Resolve guest issues promptly, escalating when necessary.
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor in high-pressure or emergency situations.
  • Ensure guest safety and security through regular walkthroughs and surveillance checks.

Supervisory Duties

  • Oversee night shift front desk operations and ensure adherence to hotel policies and procedures.
  • Act as the Night Manager on duty in their absence, assuming full responsibility for hotel operations during overnight hours.
  • Serve as the highest-ranking staff member on-site during designated shifts, making operational decisions and responding to guest or staff emergencies.
  • Train, support, and supervise overnight front desk team members to maintain service standards.
  • Address and resolve escalated guest concerns and incidents with professionalism and urgency.
  • Communicate any significant issues, maintenance problems, or security concerns to department heads or upper management during shift handovers.
  • Monitor lobby and property for safety and cleanliness, coordinating with security and housekeeping as needed.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in hospitality or accounting preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in front desk or night audit roles in the hospitality industry.
  • 1+ year of supervisory or team lead experience preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in hotel property operational systems (PO
  • S) such as Opera, or similar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic accounting and reconciliation knowledge.
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

Work Environment

  • Overnight shift work in a hotel front office environment.
  • Requires prolonged periods of standing and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs).
  • Must be available to work holidays and weekends as needed.
