Job summary

Le Petit Pali at 8th Ave in Carmel-by-the-Sea seeks a Night Audit Agent to manage overnight operations, check-ins and check-outs, and guest billing with calm professionalism.

You will ensure accurate folio handling, input guest data into Opera, and coordinate with Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Engineering for safety and seamless night service. Strong night-shift reliability is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of guest reception experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Familiar with basic arithmetic and property management/point-of-sale systems.
• Ability to work independently overnight with good judgment and calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead check-in/check-out, billing, and folio settlement for overnight guests.
• Answer phone calls, emails, and guest inquiries, resolving needs proactively.
• Input guest details and payments into Opera and other hotel systems.
• Coordinate with Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Engineering for safety and cleanliness.
• Reconcile daily front desk tasks and address guest complaints professionally.
• Document safety incidents and suggest preventive actions.
• Escalate significant guest concerns to the General Manager.
• Maintain professional appearance and provide reliable overnight service.
• Assist other departments as needed to keep the hotel running overnight.

POSITION PROFILE

The Night Audit Agent keeps Le Petit Pali at 8th Ave running smoothly after hours — welcoming late-night arrivals, closing out the day's business, and making sure every department starts the next morning on solid footing. You'll be the calm, capable presence guests and colleagues count on overnight.

THE TASK AT HAND

• Serve as the primary point of contact for guests overnight, leading check-in/check-out, billing, and settling folios.

• Field phone calls, emails, and guest inquiries, proactively resolving needs to keep guests happy.

• Accurately input guest information and payments into hotel systems such as Opera.

• Communicate guest requests or concerns to the Front Desk Manager, Housekeeping, or Engineering, and conduct walkthroughs for safety, security, and cleanliness.

• Reconcile and complete all daily front desk tasks, addressing complaints and requests professionally.

• Investigate and document safety issues or incidents that occur during the shift, recommending steps to prevent recurrence.

• Communicate any significant guest complaints or issues to the General Manager or Supervisor.

• Maintain a professional, well-groomed appearance and represent the hotel with trusty service throughout the overnight shift.

• Lend a hand to other departments as needed to keep the hotel running smoothly overnight.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required

• Minimum two years of experience in guest reception, preferably in a boutique or luxury hotel setting.

• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.

• Comfortable with basic arithmetic and property management/point-of-sale systems.

• Good judgment, calm under pressure, and able to work independently with minimal supervision overnight.

Physical

• Ability to stand for long periods and push, pull, or lift up to 25 lbs.

• Flexible schedule, able to work overnight and a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
