Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Full Time Nights shift. The role requires a BSN (or completion within 5 years), Ohio RN license, and BLS certification.

The Nurse will provide family-centered care, lead clinical activities, and participate in quality and safety initiatives within an onsite setting. Responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care; mentoring staff; and collaborating with providers to ensure high-quality pediatric services.

Qualifications

• BSN required or to be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
• Active Ohio RN license required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct nursing care with family-centered focus.
• Provide care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
• Lead and perform professional duties and nursing leadership.
• Deliver patient-centered care and participate in quality improvement and safety efforts.
• Educate and mentor staff; may precept new employees.
• Support providers and promote collaboration for quality pediatric care.
• Engage in informatics and systems-based practice; use EMR as needed.
