Job summary

Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, AZ is actively seeking a Full-Time Respiratory Therapist for NICU coverage. The role involves providing respiratory care, performing diagnostic testing, and collaborating with the clinical team to support neonates from 23 weeks' gestation and above on ventilators and high-frequency ventilation.

Required NBRC RRT credential and active license; sign-on bonus up to $10,000. Day shift (3 x 12-hour shifts, 6:00 am–6:30 pm), 36 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Associate or technical degree.
• NBRC Certification as an RRT.
• RRT required for new hires (by Oct 1, 2015).
• Active state license as required by state law.
• Banner Registry: minimum one year in acute care hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic modalities of respiratory care as prescribed.
• Manage mechanical ventilators with physician collaboration.
• Assemble, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment.
• Perform pulmonary/cardiology diagnostic testing.
• Assess patients and adjust therapy; document care.
• Collaborate with care teams on plans and changes.
• May supervise department staff.
