Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care per physician orders and department procedures. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

The ideal candidate holds a state license, AMA-approved training, and NICU Level 3-RT experience; neonatal transport is preferred. Certification in BLS/ACLS; PALS/NRP and blood gas tech credentials within 90 days are expected.

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Therapist Licensure.
• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
• Preferred experience in neonatal transport.
• 5 years of verifiable experience.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• PALS, NRP, Blood Gas Technologist certified within 90 days.
• NICU experience, 3 years or more preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and equipment.
• Administers respiratory therapy treatments and monitors for side effects.
• Sets up and monitors mechanical ventilators and ICU duties.
• Performs arterial punctures for blood gas analysis with awareness of risks.
