Job summary

Nicklaus Children’s Health System is seeking a Neonatal ICU nurse in Florida to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and supervise patient care on a dedicated unit in line with policies and patient rights. You will document the care plan, admit and discharge patients, and collaborate with the care team while ensuring safety, infection prevention, and accurate nursing documentation.

Required: Florida RN license, active BLS/NRP, BSN or progress toward, and neonatal/PICU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Florida and active in good standing.
• NRP and BLS certification maintained throughout employment.
• Neonatal nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a high-acuity unit.

Responsibilities

• Communicates patient progress and changes to physicians and care teams.
• Plans and documents the care plan with other disciplines.
• Performs nursing assessments and reassessments per policy.
• Provides basic neonate care and responds to medical equipment.
• Completes admission history and discharge planning thoroughly.
• Documents in the electronic health record accurately and timely.
• Administers medications per physician orders following six rights.
• Conducts hand-offs and adheres to infection prevention measures.
• Assesses body systems to ensure safe, effective care delivery.
• Secures endotracheal tubes when applicable and monitors skin integrity.
• Provides bedside report at shift change.
• Responsible for specimen collection.
