Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide direct patient care across respiratory services, following physician orders and monitoring therapy efficacy. The role includes consulting with physicians and serving as an expert resource for nursing staff while performing duties as assigned.

Ideal candidates hold an RRT credential (NBRC), an active RCP license, and CoARC‑approved education. PALS is required for ER staff; ACLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• PALS certification required for ER staff.
• ACLS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care as ordered by physicians.
• Consult physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Act as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care.
• Perform duties as assigned.
