Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, is seeking an experienced nurse to provide safe, competent postpartum care and to lead a healthcare team in accordance with facility policies and philosophy.

Responsibilities include educating new mothers, caring for newborns, and developing individualized care plans with discharge planning. The hospital emphasizes service excellence, ethics, teamwork, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• Current Nevada nursing license.
• Current BLS certificate. NRP within 6 mo. of hire. STABLE within 6 mo of hire
• Neonatal nursing experience preferred.
• Two years nursing experience required

Responsibilities

• Educate and assist new mothers with physical and emotional needs during the post partum period, while in the hospital setting
• Caring for the infants and educating mothers about care.
• Constructs and implements the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill.
• Develops goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet individual patient/family needs
