Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, seeks a registered nurse to provide postpartum care, infant education, and collaborative care planning. You will lead nursing care aligned with hospital policy and patient-centered standards, ensuring safe, compassionate outcomes for mothers and newborns.

Ideal candidates hold a Nevada RN license, BLS, and have neonatal care experience or readiness to complete required certifications promptly.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• Current Nevada nursing license.
• Current BLS certificate; NRP within 6 months of hire; STABLE within 6 months of hire.
• Neonatal nursing experience preferred.
• Two years nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Educate and assist new mothers with physical and emotional needs during the postpartum period in the hospital setting.
• Care for the infants and educate mothers about care.
• Constructs and implements the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill.
• Develops goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet individual patient/family needs.
