Job summary

Mercy RN position in a Level III NICU provides continuous, family-centered neonatal care adjacent to the Mother/Baby Unit. The role emphasizes teamwork with interdisciplinary staff and comprehensive care planning for infants as early as 26 weeks gestation.

Qualifications

• RN license in the hiring state or a compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtainable within 30 days of hire.
• NRP and other unit-specific certifications may be required.
• Possesses or is pursuing national specialty certification (e.g., RNC-NIC) encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, patient-centered care using the nursing process.
• Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary teams and direct caregivers.
• Uphold patient rights and maintain confidentiality per standards.
• Evaluate care effectiveness and adjust plans accordingly.
• Float to other Women’s and children’s units as needed.
