Job summary

Mercy in Rogers, AR is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Level III NICU. The RN will provide safe, effective, patient-centered care using the nursing process, evaluating outcomes and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams in a 24/7 unit adjacent to Mother/Baby.

Qualifications include graduation from an approved nursing program and an active RN license in the hiring state (compact licensure preferred). Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, NRP, ENPC, TNCC, and others as listed.

Qualifications

• RN license in the hiring state with compact licensure if applicable
• Graduate of an approved nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
• Current or pending BLS; certifications listed above preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care in the Level III NICU
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Evaluate care effectiveness and ensure patient rights and confidentiality

Position Details:

The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process to provide safe, effective, and patient-centered care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. The RN evaluates the effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and coordinates patient care collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams. This position upholds patient rights, maintains confidentiality, and performs all duties in alignment with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards.

Position Details:

The Level III NICU is a 24/7, multidisciplinary unit located adjacent to the Mother/Baby Unit, featuring private suites that support family-centered care. The team provides advanced neonatal care for infants as early as 26 weeks gestation, including therapies such as therapeutic hypothermia, high-frequency ventilation, and iNO. NRP and STABLE certification is required and can be completed once hired, and national specialty certification (RNC-NIC) is strongly encouraged.

Career Path: Often floats to other Women's and children's units and is a great place to learn more about Labor and Birth and Mother/Baby.

Ratio: 3-1:1

Qualifications:

Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (associate's degree, Diploma, or BSN).

Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
