Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, seeks a Physician Assistant specializing in the NICU to join our team. You will provide direct patient care, follow established standards, and collaborate with nursing and medical staff to ensure safety and quality care for critically ill newborns.

Qualified candidates hold a NY license, BLS, a PA degree, and DEA certification. ACLS/PALS/NRP may be preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Current licensed Physician Assistant in New York State (NYS).
Basic Life Support Certification (American Heart Association).
DEA Certificate required.

Responsibilities

Practices within the scope of delineated privileges.
Provide direct care to patients and families in line with NYU Langone Health-Brooklyn goals and protect patient rights and confidentiality.
Obtain detailed history and perform physical exams; order appropriate treatments after consulting with a physician.
Document all patient encounters including assessment, progress notes, treatment, teaching and referrals.
Maintain unit records, reports and statistics for administrative purposes and reimbursement, including discharge summaries.
Evaluate and manage critical care patients and participate in rounds with attending staff.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and families during admissions, care and discharge.
Provide preventive health services and participate in quality improvement activities.
