Job summary

UNM Hospital is seeking a Full-Time ICU Inpatient Pharmacist to join the Pharmacy - Inpatient team. The role supports bedside medication management, education for staff, and coordination of care in the ED-ICU and critical care areas.

Rotating shifts and a 0.90 FTE underscore a demanding yet rewarding environment in acute care. Responsibilities include pharmacotherapy counseling, dispensing, drug information, and participation in CQI and formulary programs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Licensed pharmacist with NM Pharmacist license within 90 days.
• Experience in hospital pharmacy settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide drug information and counsel to physicians, staff, and patients.
• Compound, dispense, and verify medications per orders and policies.
• Review prescriptions for safety, dosing, and interactions.
• Collaborate with care teams to optimize therapy and reduce costs.
• Participate in formulary management and CQI activities.
• Educate residents, students, and technicians as assigned.
• Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with standards.
• Support IV to PO conversions and renal dosing when needed.
• Contribute to medication safety programs and audits.
