Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for a per diem position at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York. The RN will diagnose and treat health problems using nursing methods and provide care that supports and restores health in collaboration with the medical team.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, administering medications, infection control, and documenting patient education.

Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license or eligibility.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• At least one year of hospital acute care experience preferred.
• Pre-employment requirements include health clearance, references and drug screen.

Responsabilités

• Assess patient condition and coordinate nursing care with other health disciplines.
• Develop written individualized care plans including discharge planning.
• Administer direct care and medications as needed.
• Practice infection control and maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the RN/Clinician.
• Maintain and update the written plan of care and patient education records.
• Collaborate with staff and contribute to quality assurance activities.
