Stony Brook Southampton Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse to diagnose and treat health problems using nursing methods. You will provide direct patient care, develop care plans, administer medications, and ensure infection control within a safe environment.

Qualifications include NY RN license, ACLS/BLS/PALS/TNCC, NIHSS and Moderate Sedation. BSN preferred; Emergency Department experience is a plus. This full-time role is based in Southampton, NY.

Qualifikationen

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current BLS provider certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current PALS provider certification from the American Heart Association.
• TNCC certification.
• NIHSS and Moderate Sedation.

Aufgaben

• Assess the patient’s condition and nursing needs; coordinate nursing care activities with other health disciplines involved in the treatment effort to relate and integrate the nursing regimen with the treatment plan for patients.
• Develop a written individualized care plan which includes teaching needs and discharge planning.
• Administer direct care when professional nursing skills and judgment are needed.
• Administer medication.
• Practice infection control and participate in the maintenance of a clean and safe environment
• Communicate changes in patient’s condition and questions regarding patient care to Charge RN/Clinician.
• Develop and maintain current written plan of care for assigned patients. Set priorities with patient/family.
• Document evidence in medical record of patient/family teaching and responses.
• Communicate with staff and other departments.
• Participate in unit/hospital quality assurance activities.
