Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years recent experience as a unit secretary/coordinator in a large, complex healthcare environment.
• Completed CPR Healthcare Provider (AHA or equivalent) within 6 months of hire.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong data entry skills and/or keyboard training.
• Database management experience.
• Superb customer service skills.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with empathy and kindness.

Responsibilities

• Maintain courteous and receptive atmosphere for families and visitors.
• Monitor equipment and unit facilities maintenance and temperature.
• Answer telephones and screen unit check-ins.
• Admit and discharge patients through the EMR system.
• Scan medical documents and oversee room turnover.
• Maintain staff and family reference materials.
• Act as a unit resource and support cross-training across units.
